When Bruce told me he was going out to the ranch to trim a few trees near the pool house, it never crossed my mind heights would be involved. My heart withered when he came home for lunch and showed me these pictures. We had a small discussion about walking on a roof -
with a pole saw -
after retirement -
in the middle of a building project - and you can only imagine the rest of the conversation......................

Thanks to our neighbor, Marie, who happened to be visiting and steadied the ladder and took these photos.
Meanwhile on the ground, Miguel and his crew were installing our windows. Below is a sequence of installing the windows over the master bathtub. I've never seen windows installed and it is fascinating to see these guys do their work.

The crew is just amazing handling the awkward windows. The windows come packaged with handles to help manage the smaller windows.

Here's another window installation sequence - for the entry way transom window.

Before the big windows across the back of the house could be installed, more detailed framing was required to shore up the surrounding structure. The windows are very heavy and the vertical pieces of wood under the sill will support their weight.

In the picture above, you get a peek of the clerestory windows. Here's a better shot.
