Day 1 - The First Stake in the Ground

Today the surveyors staked out the four corners of the building envelope.  Four stakes like this one were placed on the outermost dimensions of the house.  The surveyors were really nice guys.

Bruce set up "shop" using a table and chairs loaned by Bridlewood friends who have used the same "office equipment" at their build sites.

After our builder Keith arrived, we used our plans to find the location of our front door.

The location of the corner of the patio fireplace was marked on the ground.  It will be fun to watch this area go from dirt and orange paint to an outdoor fireplace.  Trees were sprayed to show they should be removed within the building envelope.

We ended Day 1 with our first party.  With champagne in hand, Bruce welcomes Kathy and Melinda in through our front door!!!
