Day 6/7 - Prep Work

We have owned this piece of property since the fall of 2009 and we have taken our time getting it prepped for building a house.

As previous posts have shown, the land had a lot of stuff growing on it!!  A good deal of the growth needed to be cleared in order to to pick out a build spot.  And we needed a road to drive to the site we selected.

We hired a local outfit, Cedar Eaters of Texas, to clear out some of the dense stuff.  They used some heavy duty equipment to cut down and mulch the unwanted trees.

The cedar trees were removed, mulched and used to lay down the first phase of the driveway.

Then later, the road was graded, large rocks removed and road base was laid to make a driveway and a culvert was put in at the entrance.
