Day 37 - Windows to the Sky

Living in the wooded, rolling Hill Country, we tried to design our house to take advantage of the views provided by the location.  Bruce spent many hours selecting the precise spot for the house and its orientation - with advice from our friends.......and a little input from me.   To enjoy the outdoors from inside, we need windows.   Our hardworking framing crew continued working on those window openings today.

Off of the kitchen is a curved banquette area with tall windows in the curved wall.  The guys starting working on the window wall today.

The pictures below are of windows throughout the house.  We picked a variety of sizes, types, and shapes including double hung, casement, fixed glass, and horizontal sliders.  The more detailed curved framing for the windows with round tops will be done later by a different crew of framers.

Another super exciting moment today was seeing the crew start working on the staircase area.  There has been so much action on the first floor, I almost forgot about the upstairs!!!!!

Rain is predicted for tomorrow and even though it may mean a break in work, we are hoping for rain in this dry part of the state.  Either way, tomorrow is going to be another great day!!!!

Furry Friend of the Day

This handsome fellow is Romeo, one of the feral kitties that visit us at the apartment.  He doesn't visit as much as some of the other kitties, but he has a serious reputation as being a ladies man.  In fact,  he is about to be the proud father of a litter of kittens with our sweet little Oreo.  What a guy!!!!!
