Day 21 - Beam Me Up Scotty

Work continued on the foundation today with the arrival of a crew of "rod busters."  The work they do is referred to as "tying steel."  The steel reinforces the concrete and helps to provide strength to the foundation.

Here is a shot of some of the steel to be placed in the foundation.  The rods are of varying diameter and are referred to by scales of an eighth of an inch.  So, a "3" is 3/8 of inch and a "6" is 6/8 of an inch.

The pads that were created last week have been wrapped in a moisture barrier and the walls of the foundation forms have been braced with wood for greater support during this phase of work.

The rod busters accomplished a lot of work today and will be back tomorrow to do even more.  This is an exciting week.

Furry Friends of the Day

Our furry friends of the day are a mother and daughter chocolate lab team, Maggie and Molly.  They live with their large human and animal family at the Rockin' M Ranch.  The girls are enthusiastic greeters to all who visit and like to have fun with their guests.  They also enjoy riding around Bridlewood on the ATV with their human Dad.
